After giving up four runs and four hits in the first three innings Monday, left-hander Jeff Francis retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced and was the winning pitcher in Colorado's 8-6 victory over Milwaukee. Seven of those 10 outs came on strikeouts, six of them swinging. The difference, Francis said, was keeping his head steadier after releasing the ball. "I tried to stay on the plate and always keep it in view," said Francis, who pitched six innings.
